2022 Love Forever First Class Postage Stamps

Two stamps built from the same layout, borrowed from old European folk art: three round stylized blooms across the top, smaller blossoms tucked into the lower corners, one on powder blue and one on coral. Bailey Sullivan illustrated and designed them with Greg Breeding as art director. Folk motifs are a sensible source for a stamp - they were designed to survive being painted small on furniture and chests, which is the same problem.

Two backgrounds in one sheet is practically useful, not just decorative. Couples use the coral for the invitation and the blue for the reply envelope, or split a Valentine's mailing so the same stamp does not go to everyone. Beyond February they carry anniversary cards, wedding correspondence and general mail. Sheets of 20. Folk-art sources also age slowly, which is why this one still looks current several years after it was printed.
